    Today,I will tell you about the Origin of Christmas. Christmas Day-December 25-which celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the founder of the Christian religion, is the biggest and best-loved holiday in the United States.

    According to the Bible, the holy book of Christians, God decided to allow his only son, Jesus Christ, to be born to a human mother and live on earth so that people could understand God better and learn to love God and each other more. “Christmas”- meaning “celebration of Christ “- honors the time when Jesus was born to a young Jewish woman Mary. 
    

     Mary was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter, but before they came together, she was found to be with child. Because Joseph, her husband, was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” 
    

     Although the exact date of the birth of Jesus nearly 2,000 years ago is not known, the calendar on the supposed date divides all time into B.C. (Before Christ )and A.D. ( a Latin phrase, Anno Domini, “in the year of our Lord.”)For the first 300 years, Jesus’ birthday was celebrated on different dates. Finally, in the year 354, church leaders chose December 25 as his birthday.

Soy for women, fish for men

      A survey reoport that women who ate soy regularly as children have a lower risk of breast cancer.and men who eat fish several times a week have a lower risk of colon cancer, a second team of researchers have told the American Association for Cancer Research.

The studies add to a growing body of evidence about the role of diet in cancer. Cancer experts now believe that up to two-thirds of all cancers come from lifestyle factors such as smoking, diet and lack of exercise.

　 The study showed that men who ate fish at least five times a week had a 40 per cent lower risk of developing colorectal cancer compared with men who ate fish less than once a week.

    As we all know,the word of”Haste makes waste.” is correct in many cases even today.
    we suppose that you are preparing for your final examination. you have no enough time intakes you very worried. So you have to read and write continuously, without rest, without sleep, with out relaxation. The result is that your brain is less and less efficient, your process is slower and slower, The situation goes from bad to worse. All your efforts lead to nothing. On the contrary, if you do your preparations with a calculated plan and carry out the plan step by step, your work will be effective. Consequently, you will take part in the exams confidently with good preparations.
    I think we must remember the word“Haste makes waste” .If we under stand it and apply it to our study or work. We will benefit a lot from it.

The defeat

63As we all know,every success has been achieved because the person was able to analyze defeat and actually profit by it in his next undertaking. Confuse defeat with failure, and you are doomed indeed to failure.

   I think defeat is a dead loss unless you do face it without humiliation, analyze it and learn why you failed. Defeat, in other words, can help to cure its own cause. Not only does defeat prepare us for success, but nothing can arouse within us such a compelling desire to succeed. If you let a baby grasp a rod and try to pull it away, he will cling more and more tightly until his whole weight is suspended. It is this same reaction which should give you new and greater strength every time you are defeated.

Therefore,If you exploit the power which defeat gives, you can accomplish with it far more than you are capable of.
